In current prices the volume of production is estimated at 163 billion. As stressed by the Governor of the region Alexander Karlin in his report on socio-economic development of the region in 2016, it's a good rate, significantly above the national average.

Recall that in 2016 in the Altai region, the gross harvest of grain and leguminous exceeds 5.2 million tons, grown a record harvest of sugar beet – more than 1.1 million tons. In animal husbandry the trend of increasing livestock productivity. For the production of milk and quality beef, the region retains 3rd place in the country.
