Fish processing complex "Korat" capacity to 4 million cans of canned fish per month was commissioned in the town of Pionersky near Kaliningrad, has informed on Monday a press-service of the regional government.
"The complex includes warehouses and refrigerators, canned fish and preservy shops. The capacity of the refrigerator is 2.5 thousand tonnes of frozen fish, refining plant preserves about 200 tons per month, the production capacity of the fish plant up to 4 million cans per month", - stated in the message.
Project with a total investment of over 500 million rubles was implemented by the "Service Partner" resident of a special economic zone in Kaliningrad region. The company launched two canning lines, employed 60 people.
Used in the production of ocean fish and local raw materials, the products will be supplied to Russian and foreign markets. The annual capacity for the production of a range of canned food will be 30-40 million cans.
The Governor of the region Anton Alikhanov noted that the region has developed infrastructure for receiving, primary processing and freezing of fish. Now, according to him, the region focused on processing development and modernization of fishing fleet. The plans of the owner of a new complex for the capacity expansion will receive support from the regional authorities, the Governor promised.
According to the press service of the regional government in the area are more than 10 large companies producing canned fish. Annual output ranges from 170 to 210 million standard cans. More than a third of all canned fish products Russia is the Kaliningrad oblast.
