The prospects for "marsh plant" were discussed at a seminar in Kaluga, organized in the framework of the Russian-German project "Restoring peatlands in Russia-for the purposes of preventing fires and mitigating climate change".

As noted by the Minister of natural resources and environment of the Kaluga region Barbara Antokhina, swamps in the region in terms of water and mineral nutrition are to low. They do not have significant reserves of peat, and fire risk is minimal. The main task of the head of Department has called the restoration of the lost balance of the wetlands.

Recall that in Kaluga region located 472 swamp. Two years ago, began preparations for the implementation of the project on the "swamp growing", ecologists surveyed the two of them. The pilot was selected Rakovskoe swamp Dzerzhinsky district. In the future, after the restoration of the hydrological regime, is planned to grow in the swamp hygrophilous culture.
