In the outreach meeting, devoted to summarizing the work of agribusiness in the region in 2017 and for 2018, in Gatchina signed a cooperation agreement with crop agriculture "broad", which defines the principles of cooperation in the implementation of the investment project for the planting of the orchard with an area of 300 hectares on the territory of Luga district.

Signatures to the agreement was signed by Deputy Chairman of the government of the Leningrad region — Chairman of the Committee for agriculture and fishery complex Oleg Malashenko and Executive Director of economy Bohdan Pryslak.

"Luga land has always been famous for its orchards, this agreement we are reviving the former glory of the Apple orchards and berry plantations in Leningrad region. Now we are able to provide to the table of area residents and city fresh, natural, quality fruits and berries grown on our land," — said Oleg Malashenko.

Farm "Ford" plans to grow fruit and berries on an industrial scale. The project involves the breakdown of the garden, where an area of 250 hectares will be grown apples of different zoned to the North-West varieties, 20 hectares — pear, plum and cherry trees and 30 hectares of berries (red and black currants, gooseberries, strawberries). The investor is planning the construction of the base for storage and processing of fruit products. During the project implementation is planned to create 30 jobs. The investment will amount to more than 197 million rubles.
