In connection with the seasonal importation into Russia of fruits and vegetables cantaloupes Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human well-being enhances safety control of vegetables, fruit, fruit crops, including watermelons and cantaloupes.

In the first half of the service for compliance with sanitary-chemical, microbiological and physico-chemical parameters was studied by approximately 60 thousand samples of fruits and vegetables.

Particular attention is paid to import control. According to the office, the percentage of samples of foreign fruits and vegetables, not corresponding to hygienic standards on microbiological indicators (microbial groups, E. coli, pathogens, mold, etc.), amounted to 6 percent, and fruit and berries 13%. As a result, the implementation was removed more than 15 tons of imported products.
