The Governor of Transbaikalian edge Natalya Zhdanova on Friday appointed a new head of the regional Ministry of agriculture, he was a former first Deputy Minister Vladimir Loskutnikov, reported the press service of the Governor.

Loskutnikova predecessor on a post of the Minister of agriculture of Zabaikalsky Krai, Mikhail Kuzmin was arrested in February on charges of abuse of office in the payment of subsidies allocated for compensation to farmers during a drought in 2016. The day before, Kuzmin wrote a letter of resignation at own will which was signed by Zhdanov. Since April, the former official is under house arrest, a defendant in a criminal case is also his former Deputy Irina Malakshinova.

"The Governor of Transbaikalian edge Natalya Zhdanova has signed the order about appointment to the post of Minister of agriculture Vladimir Loskutnikov, who was first Deputy Minister and the last months fulfilled duties of the head of the Ministry. The new position Loskutnikov appointed for a term of office of the head of the region", - said the press service.

Loskutnikov was born in 1957 in the village of Obor Petrovsk - Zabaykalsky district. In 1988 he graduated from the Buryat agricultural Institute. Career path went from a farm tractor driver to Deputy head of the regional Department of the Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance. In 2013 he was appointed acting Deputy head of the Ministry of agriculture and food of the Transbaikal region, and soon - his first Deputy.
