The production volume of aquatic bioresources by Russian users in 2018, made up 5.03 million tonnes, which is 5.1% more than in 2017 and is a record for the past 26 years, reported the press service of the Federal Agency for fishery (Rosrybolovstvo).

Total Russian catch summed up the meeting with participation of Deputy Minister of agriculture, head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov. During the teleconference it was noted that the largest contribution to the volume of extraction of bioresources has always made far Eastern fishery basin. On it had 3.5 million production, which is 11% higher than the 2017.

The North pool had to 577 thousand tonnes (+1%), West of 80.4 thousand tons (+5,2%), Azov-black sea — 75 thousand tons (a decline of 26%), the Volga-Caspian — 69 thousand tons (decrease of 6%). It is noted that in present Russian waters works 476 fishing vessels beyond the exclusive economic zone of Russia — 79 ships.
