Technical regulations of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU) complements existing since July 2013 separate mandatory requirements for drinking water, pre-packaged and mineral water established another Union technical regulation "On safety of food products". A new document of the EEU apply to natural mineral water, including a dining room, medical-table and medicinal, as well as on separirovannoe, processed and natural drinking water, drinking water for baby food, artificially mineralized drinking water.

Technical regulation (EEU) developed in accordance with article 52 of the Treaty on the Eurasian economic Union dated 29 may 2014 in order to protect life and health, property, environment, life and health of animals and plants, prevention of actions misleading consumers regarding the appointment and security-packaged drinking water.

Technical regulation establishes mandatory for application and fulfillment on the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union safety requirements of packaged drinking water (including mineral water), released into circulation on the customs territory of the Union and intended for sale to consumers, requirements to processes of production, storage, transportation, realization and utilization, as well as requirements for labelling and packaging of drinking water to ensure its free circulation in the customs territory of the EAEU.

On the bottles of drinking water for baby food now will appear the inscription "baby food" or another statement of the use of potable water for this purpose. The manufacturer or the seller will have to provide data on the age of the children, is drinking water (or up to three years), inform about the total mineralization, the composition of the chemical elements, the storage conditions and the shelf life after opening of container.

Packaged drinking water, except for drinking water for baby food, medicinal and therapeutic natural mineral water, before issuance, must be declared. Assessment of compliance of drinking water for baby food, medicinal and curative natural mineral waters to the requirements of the technical regulations is carried out in the form of state registration.
