Significant growth areas has occurred in the Volga Federal district – up to 126,3 thousand hectares (2.8 times), whereupon the County moved into first place on the size of mustard crops, ahead of the South Federal district (114 thousand ha; +81%).

According to the estimates of IA "APK-inform", the oilseed area harvested amounted to 290 thousand hectares (an increase of more than 2 times), and the yield registered a slight decline of 4%, to 6.9-7 t/ha, but even taking this into account, this figure exceeds the average value of previous 3 years (5.9 q/ha).

Thus, the production of mustard seeds in Russia in 2018 is estimated by Agency at the level of a record 200 thousand tons, which is twice more than the previous year.
