According to the Ministry of agriculture of Russia, as of may 20, soybean planted 943,6 thousand ha or 42,5% of predicted. Last year to may 20, soybeans were sown 983,2 thousand hectares is nearing completion of the sowing campaign in the southern Federal district.

SEV held on the area of 176,4 thousand hectares (92.6% of the forecast). In the Siberian Federal district started planting soybeans last week. On may 20, soybean mastered 7.8 thousand ha or 21% of the planned area. According to the expectations of the Ministry of agriculture, sowing of soybean in Russia in 2016 it is planned to spend on the square 2217,9 thousand hectares.

Continues sowing of sunflower and rapeseed. Rates of sowing of sunflower at the reporting date is significantly higher than last year. On may 20, in Russia sown 5427,2 thousand hectares (78.1% of the forecast) against 4776,4 thousand hectares in 2015.

Of them in the southern Federal district sunflower already planted 1070,9 thousand hectares (64.2 per cent), in the North Caucasus – 313,9 thousand hectares (98.5 per cent), in Central – 1007,4 thousand ha (82,6%), in the Volga – 2352,1 thousand hectares (78,7%), Siberian – 526 thousand hectares (88,5%) and in the Ural – 58,5 thousand hectares (68,4%).

Spring rape sown on the area 641,1 thousand hectares (70% of the forecast). Last year by this date rape was sown 552,1 thousand hectares.
