Regional Ministry of agriculture reported that this figure is much higher than last year (2.3 million tons).

Rural workers and heads of districts were congratulated by the Minister of agriculture of the region Tatyana Kravtsev, who wished the areas to stay there.

"Honor and praise to you, dear farmers. Largely thanks to your work of the Saratov region has contributed to food security of the country", — said in greeting.

In 12 districts of the Saratov region harvested over 100 thousand tons of grain: Balashov (185 thousand tons), Kalinin (166 tons), Ekaterinovskiy (159 thousand tonnes) Pugachev (143 thousand tons), Krasnokutskaya (140 thousand tons), Ershovskiy (136 thousand tons), Samoilovsky (124 thousand tons), Rtischevskiy (115 tons), Perelyubskiy (114 tons), Engels (111 thousand tons) areas, Atkarskaya (104 thousand tons), Dergachevskiy (100 thousand tons).

Some parts of the region have started sowing winter crops for the harvest next year.
