On 7 September 2016 in the region of grain and leguminous crops threshed 2 million 98 thousand hectares. With this square have been removed over 3.3 million tons of grain.

On a conference call September 02, 2016 held by Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev in Astrakhan region discussed the holding of seasonal field work.

"We have confidence that we are your commitments to the Ministry of agriculture of the country, exceeding. Altai Krai this year will receive at least 5 million tons of grain. This will ensure the sustainable development of agriculture and close the needs of the grain processing, flour mills, feed mills and macaroni industries of the region", — said the Governor of Altai Krai Alexander Karlin.

Special attention in the region is paid to cleaning of buckwheat, as the Altai region provides almost half of the volume of grain throughout the country. The crops of buckwheat is in the edge area of 560 thousand hectares. On September 7 in the region threshed buckwheat with 111 thousand hectares, and produced 95.5 thousand tons. Cleaning this crop in the region is gaining momentum.

The high rate of harvesting affect the workload of the Altai branch of the fgbi "Center for grain quality assessment". On September 7 in the Test laboratory of the branch received more than 400 samples for quality determination of wheat, buckwheat, peas, flax, oats, barley new crop.

In the certification of the Altai branch received 75 applications for the registration of declarations of conformity of grain.
