The topic is new, since drip irrigation was developed in Russia for growing vegetables, berries, fruit, and now it is becoming a serious alternative to the cultivation of grain and industrial crops.

The meeting was attended by representatives of more than 50 agricultural organizations of six districts of the region.

With welcoming speech to the participants addressed first Vice-Minister of agriculture of the region Vladimir Egorov. In particular, he noted that in the Stavropol region is used for every hectare of agricultural land and to increase agricultural production is now only one way - increasing the return per hectare. Drip irrigation on corn is one of the solutions to this issue.

The seminar was held at the "agro-Estimate" of the St George district, where this year the drip irrigation was grown 250 ha of corn on drip irrigation.

"The yield of corn on the drop, - said the head of the enterprise S. V. Papusha, - is 140 kg/ha and more, while without irrigation is only 80 kg/ha. Costs for drip irrigation paid off almost one year, and you can grow corn in this area is not less than ten years".

The technology of growing corn with drip irrigation shared a chief agronomist of the farm Anna Palianina. According to her, this year's corn drip irrigation on the farm was cultivated for the first time, the yield exceeded 140 kg/ha.

Also at the seminar was a presentation corn hybrids are the system of mineral nutrition of maize with the increase of the crop.

Guests from the Rostov region, having the experience of growing corn with drip irrigation, shared the success in this direction. So, chief agronomist of OOO Rassvet, Rostov region, where in 2015 received 180 kg/ha of grain corn (this year it is planned 200 t/ha), shared the technology of growing corn with drip irrigation.

About the system of mineral nutrition in this direction, said the head of LLC "agricultural holding" Rostov Vladimir Pavlyuk.

The participants went on the field and examined corn hybrids drip irrigation, exchanged views and discussed prospects of development.

According to Vasily Yegorov, the area under maize drip irrigation in the Stavropol region will only expand.
