For the week 26 September to 2 October, the average purchase price of wheat was 155,88 € /ton, down 0.37 euros/tonne lower than a week earlier, and 2.02 Euro/ton less than in the beginning of September.

Corn prices are also much lower than five weeks ago. The average purchase price of corn for the week 26 September to 2 October was 173,11 EUR/ton, down 0.08 euros/tonne lower than a week earlier and at 2.96 € /t less than at the beginning of September.

Compared to last year, wheat prices dropped by 26.81 euros/ton, corn – on-6,47 € /t. Prices influenced by the good crop harvested in the current year.

Spain is a net importer of grain, and buys abroad about 5 million MT of wheat and 6 million MT of corn per year.
