Russia has signed with Bangladesh, the statement of intent to put in the country of Russian agricultural products, particularly grain, is spoken in the message of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation following the meeting, the head of the Ministry Alexander Tkachev and Minister of food of Bangladesh, Kamrul of Islam, which took place in the framework of the II world grain forum in Sochi.

"At the meeting, Alexander Tkachev and Kamrul Islam signed a joint statement on the issue of procurement of agricultural products. The document establishes the intention of the parties to carry out deliveries of Russian products, primarily grain. The export will be organized on an interstate basis in the context of the two governments tenders", — stated in the message.

Food Minister of Bangladesh at the meeting said that the country annually imports about 4.5-5 million tons of grain, while based on the state purchased about 1 million tons.

"Noted that due to the high quality of Russian grain, the government of Bangladesh is interested in increasing supplies of this product", adds the agricultural Ministry.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on the current status of cooperation in the agricultural sector and its development prospects. Tkachev noted that during 10 months of this year the trade turnover of agricultural products between countries has almost doubled, and in many ways — due to the growth of the wheat supply in Bangladesh.

"The sides agreed to intensify joint work to expand the range and volume of mutual trade of agricultural products. The Russian side has also indicated their interest in increasing the supply of potash and phosphate fertilizers in Bangladesh", — specifies the Ministry of agriculture.
