Murtaza Mughal,President economic forum of the Pakistan Economy Watch said that the country has a surplus of wheat that leads to a crisis.

Grain stocks in the country has already reached 8 million tons. The government is not able to reduce inventory due to poor sales of grain abroad.

Exporters were granted a state subsidy for the export of 1 million tonnes of wheat in the amount of 120 $/t, but prices on the world market is almost two times less. In the end, from Pakistan, was shipped to only 250 thousand tons of wheat that had no impact on the situation.

Currently, exporters have asked the government of Pakistan has requested export subsidies by 60 $/t, to be able to sell in Africa and some Arab countries 1 million tons.

After four months in Pakistan starts the new harvest, which threatens to increase state reserves by 60%.
