In the previous season, the total corn crop amounted to 972 million tonnes. In the 2014/2015 corn crop amounted to 1,019 billion tons.

The global forecast for consumption of corn, the IGC announced in the amount of 1,028 billion tons. Compared to the previous season 2015/2016 consumption of corn will increase by 58 million tonnes (970 million tonnes).

The trade volume of maize on the world market according to the latest IGC report, may amount to 135 million tons. In the previous season the figure recorded at 135.8 million tons.

The forecast of world ending stocks of corn in season 2016/2017 rose to 225,4 million tons. In the 2015/2016 season ending stocks of corn in the world was 16.9 million tonnes below. Recall that in the 2014/2015 season carryover stocks amounted to 207 million tons.
