Sowing area of sunflower will be expanded by 8% to 650 thousand hectares (600 thousand tons in 2016/17), and the harvest could reach 1.4 million tons (1.32 million tons). The import of sunflower will increase to 425 thousand tonnes 400 thousand tonnes in the current season.

The increase in the area under cotton is projected at 14% to 450 thousand hectares (400 thousand hectares) due to its reduction under less profitable corn. The cotton harvest could reach 1.2 million tonnes (1.05 million tons).

However, the area under soybean will be reduced by 10% to 27 thsd ha (30 ha), and yield up to 90 tonnes (100 tons). Imports of soybeans will increase to 2400 tons (2300 tons).
