Gross harvest of wheat in Tunisia could reach 1.2 million tons (of 0.99 million tonnes in 2016/17 MG), barley – 0.5 million tonnes (0.39 million tons).

Despite the growth of crops, Tunisia will increase imports of grain. According to the USDA forecast next season the country will be purchased on the foreign markets 2 million tons of wheat (1.8 million tons in the current season), 0.75 million tonnes of barley (0.6 million tonnes) that is associated with the need to replenish stocks of cereals in the country.
