The French agriculture Ministry on Monday released the first estimate of the total harvest of grain – 67.1 m tonnes, broadly in line with the average for the last five years.

As reported by Bloomberg, the evaluation of the soft wheat crop increased by 1.6% compared to the July forecast, to 36.8 million tonnes (+34% compared to 2016). The corn crop, according to estimates of the Ministry of agriculture of France, would be 8.7% more than last year – of 12.98 million tons. Barley production is likely to grow by 17.5% – to 12.27 million tonnes, durum wheat – by 21.3%, to 2.05 million tons.
