However, this figure was almost 6 million tonnes more than the average value over the last five years. It is necessary to take into account the increase in acreage for oilseeds in some countries, which will partially compensate for the imminent decrease in yield.

The main decline in production of sunflower seeds, to 13.8 million tons is expected in Ukraine, compared to 15 million tons in the previous season. A slight decrease in yield will be observed for the EU countries and the United States by 0.04 million tonnes for each region.

In turn, for some countries experts on the contrary, predict a slight increase in the production of sunflower. Crop in Russia will amount to 11.6 million tons (11,5 – previous value), in Argentina 3,8 (3,3) million tons, in China is 2.8 (2,75) million tons.
