In Uzbekistan next year's experiment will introduce a new scheme of sale of cotton textile companies, the correspondent of Sputnik in Uzbekistan.

Now the domestic textile enterprises will purchase "white gold" directly from farmers, bypassing other stakeholders, including various government agencies.

Previously, they were forced to buy it at export prices from the monopoly supplier "Uzpahtasanoat". This procedure reduced the profitability and competitiveness of Uzbek textile products.

In the experiment initiated by Shavkat Mirzieev, textile enterprises will Fund the main costs of farms for the cultivation of raw cotton by paying at least 60% of the cost of the contract. All supplied raw cotton should only be used for further deep processing and production of finished competitive products.

The price of raw cotton, procured by the companies will be established on a contractual basis based on the analysis of actual costs and profitability of farms. However, she should not be below the value of cotton purchased for state needs. Therefore, the President instructed the government to establish a state purchasing price of "white gold" harvest in 2018 to 15 January next year.

The remaining by-products — cotton seeds, lint and Uluk — textile enterprises will be able to implement all interested parties via stock trading.

This year in Uzbekistan has raised over 2.9 million tons of raw cotton. The Republic is among ten leading countries in production of cotton fiber and its exports.

According to the statements of the Uzbek authorities, by 2020 the capacity of local enterprises will ensure the complete processing of the produce of cotton in Uzbekistan, which could lead to a significant drop in exports of this crop. Only at the end of 2017 in the country intend to increase internal processing of cotton fibre up to 70%.

In addition, by 2020 Uzbekistan plans to implement over 150 new projects in light industry worth over two billion dollars.
