Penza region is in the lead in the Volga Federal district on the yield of grain and leguminous, the press service of the Ministry of agriculture of the region.

As of 21 July 2014, in the region threshed grain and leguminous crops on the area of 14.25 thousand hectares, harvested 41,62 thousand tons of grain. The yield of grain and leguminous crops is 29 C/ha

According to the Minister of agriculture of the region Andrey Burlakov, Penza region leads in productivity among the regions of Privolzhskiy Federal district.
