The Ministry of economic development has developed a draft government resolution on suspension of the agreement between Russia and Georgia on free trade. The corresponding document is hosted on a single portal disclosure of legal information.

The Georgian Parliament on 18 July ratified the Association agreement with the EU, the majority of whose clauses, including a section on a deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA), will enter into force on 1 September.

As noted in the draft resolution, terminate the agreement on free trade with Georgia agreed Russian specialized agencies - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of economic development and the Ministry of justice. The agreement was signed on February 3, 1994.
