The Prosecutor's office of the Murmansk region has denied the statements of the Murmansk fish processing plant that the company stopped work because of the ban on the import into Russia of Norwegian fish, reports RBC. The letter with this statement, the Prosecutor's office sent a letter to the acting Governor of the Murmansk region Marina Kovtun.

Conducted inspection found that the company's operations were not suspended, all employees are at their jobs", - the document says.

The prosecution also argues that during the inspection it was revealed the presence of wage arrears in front of the three employees in the amount of about 76 thousand (as of 1 September). Testing confirmed the fact that the company works on imported Norwegian raw materials, therefore increasing the supply of domestic raw materials in order to preserve the fish processing enterprises in the region"

The day before it was reported that the Supreme court has registered a lawsuit "Murmansk fish" to the Russian government on the recognition of partially illegal ban on food imports from the EU, Australia, Canada, Norway and the USA.

The head of the company Mikhail Tooth said that "Murmansk fish processing plant" technologically adapted only to receive live fish with ivorine vessels coming from the field. According to him, the Russian fishing fleet technically is in poor condition, and ivorybill fishing in the country is almost non-existent (according to the Russian Federal fisheries Agency, in Russia only two ships). The company purchased raw materials through the mechanism of the Norwegian auctions Norges Sildesalgslag and Norges Rafisklag by which contracts for the purchase in the second half of 2014, cod, capelin, saithe, haddock and herring in the amount of 31 thousand tons.
