The transfer of scientific quotas coastal fisheries will increase the production capacity of the Murmansk processors to 25%, said Tuesday at a meeting of regional fisheries Board, the first Deputy Governor of the region Alexey Tukavin.

"Only in the Murmansk region today are 38 fish-processing enterprises, which in 2013 was released a little more than 40 thousand tons of fish a day. Scientific quota will increase this amount by 10 thousand tons", - he noted.

Imposed economic sanctions on the import of fish caused refiners certain difficulties, but they are solvable, said Chuvakin. According to the regional government, the part of companies looking for opportunities to increase volumes of raw materials from local suppliers and vendors from countries that do not fall under retaliatory sanctions - in particular, Iceland, the Faroe Islands.

The Federal fishery Agency (Rosrybolovstvo) took the decision to transfer scientific quotas for the catch of coastal fisheries on the background of the ban on fish imports to Russia from the "sanctions" countries. About this previously reported on the website of the Agency with reference to the words of the Deputy head of the Agency Vladimir Sokolov. "Part of the quota could not get to the domestic market, so the decision was made to transfer this quota pribrezhke, and she will lead her to the domestic market", - said Sokolov. Volume quota for scientific catch of 6.1 thousand tons for cod and 3.5 thousand tons for haddock.

Russia on August 7, introduced a package of measures on sanctions the United States, Australia, Canada, European Union and Norway. Retaliatory sanctions constitute a prohibition for a period of one year for import to Russia from these countries fruits, vegetables, dairy and meat products. Under the restriction does not include some types of finished meat products (except sausages) and fish.
