All-Russian trade and food fair "Antipregnancy" for the first time will be held in the Altai region in mid-October, said on Thursday, ITAR-TASS the regional Department of food processing, pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology.

As explained in the office, this event will be one of the mechanisms of development of import substitution in Russia. In one area will be gathered specialists from the food and processing industry, representatives of major trade wholesale and retail networks and authorities of different regions.

"The incentive to conduct such a large scale event was the prohibition of import into the Russian Federation of certain types of foreign products. In addition, guests will be able to debug here business contacts, find partners, to enter into contracts for supplies, this fair will help the economic development of the Altai territory", - said the Agency.

According to a representative of management, Altai Krai have something to offer to potential buyers. In the food and processing industry of the region, there are about 50 thousand different companies. In particular, the region ranks first in the production of cereals, cheeses and flour, second place - for the production of pasta, one of the top five producers of butter.

The forum will become one of the largest shopping venues in the city of Barnaul. The exhibition will take about two thousand square meters.

As previously reported, the acting Governor Alexander Karlin has instructed relevant departments to prepare for this event. According to him, the administration of the Altai territory after sanctions have already received offers of cooperation from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kamchatka region, Murmansk and Sakhalin regions, Yakutia and others. The heads of these regions will receive a personal invitation to participate in the Altai food forum.

August 6 this year, the Russian President signed a decree on the application of the special economic measures to ensure security. Year limited imports of certain goods from countries that have imposed sanctions against Moscow. In the list of prohibited importation of goods, in particular, were meat, vegetables, fruits, dairy products.
