Khabarovsky Krai is willing to lease the DPRK to 20 thousand hectares of land under joint projects horticulture and livestock. This was announced by the Minister of agriculture of the region Alexander Yats after talks with Deputy Minister of agriculture of the DPRK Th Myung-Hee.

"Khabarovsk region there are more than 20 thousand hectares of land that can be leased Korean side. These lands, located in four different areas of the region, has been idle for several years and will require investments for further use," he said, adding that authorities rely on investment funds from the DPRK loan from Qatar in the amount of $600 million

According to him, the region has a support program of land reclamation and soil fertility. "We are ready to help Korean farmers, if they take over the territory. But we intend to compete with the EAO and the Amur region for North Korean investments, "he said.

"From the Russian side, we would like to lease about 10 thousand hectares of land for crop production, with the Korean side to provide labor, equipment and machinery", - said Th Myung-Hee.

She recalled that the agreement on cooperation in agriculture were achieved in October during a visit to Russia Minister of foreign Affairs of the DPRK Lee soo Yong. At the meeting with the Governor of Khabarovsk territory Vyacheslav Shport Lee soo Yeon told about Qatari loan "several hundred million dollars", which the DPRK intends to use for the joint of agricultural projects.

In the Khabarovsk region of the North Korean delegation will run until November 17, and will visit enterprises for the production of vegetables and milk, meat processing. The DPRK is interested in participation in the cultivation of grain and vegetables, cattle breeding, fishing activities.
