For 2016 planned all-Russian agricultural census. Its main objectives are the formation of official statistical information about the state and structure of agriculture, the availability and use of its resource potential.

Census subject of agricultural organizations, including the enterprises of small business), peasant (farmer) farms and individual entrepreneurs, private and other individual farms, horticultural, market-gardening and dacha non-profit associations.

All survey respondents will be characterised in detail, taking into account the livestock and poultry; the number of staff, their age, level of education; state of rural infrastructure, and other parameters. The database will be formed by the municipalities of the Russian Federation subjects.

The census should be conducted at least once in ten years. It first took place in 2006.
