Quarantine for rabies entered on the territory of the town of Bor, Nizhny Novgorod region until 2 March 2015 in connection with the identification of the disease in dogs exposed to man.

This was reported on the website of the Rosselkhoznadzor administration for the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Republic of Mari El.

According to information, the decision to impose quarantine for rabies in animals was adopted by the Commission on the organization of protection of the territory of the Nizhniy Novgorod region from the introduction of infectious animal diseases from foreign countries and frontier areas.

The reason for the Commission's work was a positive result of laboratory research material obtained from dead dogs exposed to man.

In the course of the Commission's work was developed and subsequently approved by the decree of the Governor of the Nizhniy Novgorod region from 24 December 2014 action Plan on the elimination of epizootic focus on rabies in animals, according to which the territory of the house No. 2 on the street Nekrasov Bor municipal district town of Bor, Nizhny Novgorod region is recognized as a disadvantaged point for rabies. This site has quarantine until 2 March 2015.

The composition of the threatened area for rabies includes the following settlements of the urban district of Bor town: village Bogashevo, village of Big Adamowo, the village of Deryabina, village Zuyevo, village Cruces, Swan village, the village of Minin, the village of Nikolskoye, the village Padmapani, village of Popovo, village Prikladnoi, Sanda village, the village Sarahmatova, village Ulanova, the village of Shlykova, the Railway village, the village underground Kiselica.

For the period of quarantine on the territory of the affected areas shall be prohibited to conduct exhibitions of dogs and cats, brood and natuski dogs, wildlife trade, the export of animals outside the affected areas, the implementation of raw milk.
