In the government of Saratov region held a meeting on the Results of work for 2014. Import substitution issues and prospects of development of production and processing of fishery products in the Saratov region" under the guidance of the Chairman of the region government - Minister of agriculture Alexander Solovyov, the press service of the Ministry of agriculture of the region.

The meeting focused on the results of work in 2014 and identified priority areas for the development of the region in matters of import substitution. Among the problematic issues highlighted significant gaps in the legislation governing the industry; high interest rates for attraction of credit funds; the increase in prices of fish raw materials from direct suppliers, resulting in lower marketing fish products and the decline in production.

One of the issues that were discussed by the participants was the creation of rybopromyslovogo cluster in the region. The need to work in this direction is determined by the rate at import substitution and growth of fish production in the Saratov region. So, by the end of 2014 fish farms produced pond fish by 45.8 percent compared to 2013, including carp at 11.9 percent, carp on 33 percent of the white Amur three times, sterlet and trout to 100 percent.
