Since its first appearance in Georgia in 2007, African swine fever, despite all the efforts, continues to win new territory, according to the European office of international public ecological organization "Green Front". First it was the land of the Caucasus, then the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, and finally the EU.

The key to effective prevention and control of ASF lies in the comprehensive education of all who may be affected by the epizootic. So for infected regions need to create and implement a comprehensive educational program to combat African swine fever.

In order to reduce the gaps in knowledge that you already have of epizootics, the specialists of the Central management to reduce the threat in the fight against weapons of mass destruction under the supervision of the Ministry of defense has developed a project entitled "informing the population of Eastern Europe on ecology and epidemiology of African swine fever: training and implementation of methods and strategies for control and prevention". The project will be implemented in the following four countries: Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. This annual project will be implemented through local partners and the support of the consulting firm Safe Food Solutions (SAFOSO) and food and agriculture organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The main objective of the project is to build an extensive and strong network of knowledge and experience to control and prevent the ASF. This, quite specific, the information will then be processed into educational material for each specific region and spread within the concept of "Train-the-Trainer". The essence of this concept that centres were trained first, local veterinarians, and they in turn passed on their knowledge to farmers and other farmers. The principle of operation, as well as the semantic content and educational material will be selected for each country individually, but coordination and cooperation will be ensured through regular meetings between all involved in the project countries, which undoubtedly will create conditions for exchange of experience.
