For the first 6 months of 2015 the number of sheep and goats rose to 100.6% in comparison with last year, reports the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation. The increase was due to peasant farms (KFH).

The rate of growth of population in numerical terms was 27, 98 million head. This, together with a growing population and increased volumes of production of animals for slaughter. For the same period the figure was of 143.2 thousand tons, or 0.2% more than last year.

On KFH volumes grew by 8.8% and amounted to 34.6 per thousand tons. According to Rosstat on 1 July 2015 livestock Crsv Russia totaled 20.3 million heads, which is 1.7% less than last year. Cows in the total volume amounted to 8.6 million head, i.e. 2% less year-on-year. The drop in private farms and agricultural companies was 3.1%, in Agos – 2,8%. In KFH, by contrast, there was an increase in the numbers: the population grew by 3.8%.
