Lithuanian farmers hold a protest against the reduction of purchasing prices for milk.

"I believe that manufacturers should themselves be made stronger, to unite and to gain more bargaining power", - said the President of Lithuania.

"On any intervention in the regulation of prices I can say that price controls are not in market conditions will lead only to higher prices for all consumers. Milk producers have nothing to gain and more for the milk does not get it. And all other consumers, we will pay for dairy products more expensive. Therefore, the European Union does not apply this method, it is prohibited by the directives, and rightly so. Only competition and bargaining power can pre-empt prices, especially producers", — said Grybauskaite.

According to her, throughout Europe faced a similar situation.
