Smolensk Governor discussed with the first Deputy Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Evgeny Gromyko prospects of development of flax complex in Vyazma district, the press service of the head region.

Only in the Central Federal district complex works on the principle of closed cycle. Here is 40% of the total area of flax grown in the region and produced 50% of products from flax. The previous year was more than 1.2 thousand tons of yarn and 280 thousand linear meters of canvas.

Decided to create the Department of crop production, chemization and plant protection of the Ministry of agriculture working group with the participation of Smolyan, which will support the cluster. The region also promised compensation for the expense of subsidies from the Federal budget to 20% of costs of agricultural producers for the production and processing of flax.

We will remind that else last year the Smolensk region received 37 million rubles for the development of flax cultivation. Then the region was included into number 25 of the subjects, regional crop programs which have been selected as economically significant.
