The court satisfied the claim of Prosecutor's office to the ex-head of the Ministry of agriculture of Astrakhan region Ivan Nesterenko on recovery from it caused to the budget of the region of damage.

However, the criminal case against the former Minister in June 2015, was terminated in connection with expiry of the Statute of limitations of criminal prosecution.

Despite this, Prosecutor of the Astrakhan region via the court decided to collect from Nesterenko the damage caused by it.

As reported today a press-service of Prosecutor's office of Russia, the investigators found that Nesterenko has provided JSC "Astrakhan product" subsidy amounting to more than 108 million roubles, "knowing that at this time the auction is held to dispose of 51% of the shares of the company which are the property of the region, and by not taking steps to change the initial price bid".

As a result, the auction winner purchased the said shares at the price of 13,6 million roubles, whereas their actual cost after receiving grants has increased by more than 30 million rubles.

"Thus, the action Nesterenko budget of the Astrakhan region suffered major damage in the amount of 30,2 million rubles. The Prosecutor's claims are satisfied by court in full", - stated in the message on the website of the Prosecutor's office of Russia.

Reaction from Ivan Nesterenko on the decision of the court has not yet happened.
