Truck driver-refrigerated Alexey Gadaev a month without work. Over the last ten years such a long layoff doesn't remember. Especially before the holidays. In Russia, he carried thousands of tons of vegetables, fruits, citrus. This year made almost twice less flights than in the past.

"For a month, but even more from Bishkek are not going. Refurbished machine, made. Now waiting for client... waiting for the Cargo", says the trucker.

Alex could engage in transportation in Kyrgyzstan, but would lose two-thirds of the salary. Within the country and without it there are about 70 thousand truck drivers.

In the same situation hundreds of international drivers. Because of the crisis in the region the volume of trade between countries has decreased markedly. Once opened the borders, carriers of Kyrgyzstan became more difficult to compete with counterparts from the Eurasian economic Union. In the partner countries and firms are much larger and modern trucks. Besides a tenth part of the profit eaten up by paying for the use of Russian roads.

"As long as something is out, wages to pay drivers, buy new tires. While the situation is not critical. But to buy new trucks carriers there is no money",- said the head of the company international transportation Sergey Golinka.

The fate of the industry depends on the development of industry in the country Kyrgyzstan. In the international transporters ' Association said: we need to increase exports.

"Everything will depend on the market. If the exports grow, and the international carriers will benefit", - said the Executive Director of the Association of international road carriers of Kyrgyzstan Temir Niyazbekov.

It becomes easier and after will increase the number of parties to the international Convention on road transport of goods. Next year the Treaty will be joined by China and Pakistan. Kyrgyz trucks will be able to enter under the simplified system and in these countries.

In Kyrgyzstan, nearly one hundred firms engaged in international road transport. And if the situation does not change, work can lose a few thousand people.
