Starting from 21 December 2015 to the drivers of vehicles entering Lithuania Russian trucks have to pay tolls on local highways, told the radio station LRT, the head of the road Administration of Lithuania, Egidijus Skrodenis. He recalled that the effect of road tax levied in Lithuania, to all foreign carriers, was extended to the Russians after the launch of the Russian system "Platon".

Previously the Deputy head of the Ministry of transport and communications of Lithuania Saulius, Girdauskas explained that the authorities are in favour of equal conditions for carriers, but because after the introduction in Russia of the Board of Lithuanian trucks fee will be levied and Russians in Lithuania.

Currently the cost of the sticker, giving the right during the day to move on the highway in Lithuania, is €11, a weekly "travel" from €37 to €52 (depending on which environmental class corresponds to a truck), the annual cost in the amount of €753 to €1071.

Shortly after the announcement of the Lithuanian transport Ministry about the beginning of charging truckers Russian Rosselkhoznadzor has suspended the transit of fish through Lithuania to Russia. The formal reason for the ban was the shortcomings identified during the inspection of Lithuanian enterprises for the production and storage of fish products.
