Four new distribution centers were built-to-order company from scratch, one is prepared to work with 3PL technology[1], and a distribution center in Moscow, has returned to work after a complete renovation.

Warehouses open in 2015 in St. Petersburg, Voronezh and Kazan, are designed to store products in all temperature conditions, which reduces the cost of shipping because the entire range arrives in stores from a single centre.

New logistics centers strengthen the ties between the producers and buyers of food products and increase the turnover of local suppliers, X5 Retail Group considers the development of distribution infrastructure a priority in the next 5 years.

By the end of 2015 the amount of warehouse space the company has increased by more than 82 thousand square meters In 2015, X5 took 1st place among the largest retailers in Russia by number of newly commissioned warehouses and second in the growth of warehouse space per year (data of the analytical Agency InfoLine).

Distribution centers X5 Retail Group serve more than 7,000 shops, fully ensuring effective work of logistics X5 and its suppliers. As at 31 December 2015 under the company's management was 35 distribution centers and 1 561-owned trucks across the Russian Federation.

In 2016 the company plans to increase the pace of development of logistics infrastructure.
