The head of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev is going to participate in the meeting of agriculture Ministers of the group of twenty (G20), which will be held in China June 3, 2016, he said this at a meeting with agriculture Minister of China Han Changfu.

"First and foremost I would like to thank you for the invitation to the meeting of agriculture Ministers of the group of twenty and to inform you that I currently plan to take part in it", - he said.

In this Tkachev said that Russia supports the initiative of China on the inclusion of agriculture and food security among the priorities of the presidency of China in the G20 in 2016.

"I think that the main theme of the meeting of agriculture Ministers of "twenty" - "Agricultural innovation and sustainable development" - is highly relevant, especially in light of the adoption last year of the Agenda for sustainable development to 2030 in the jubilee General Assembly of the UN," he concluded.

Russian companies are also ready to take an active part in the forum. Russia appreciates the extension of the list of activities on the theme of agriculture, said Tkachev.

"We believe that the Forum will make a practical contribution to the agenda of the meeting of agriculture Ministers of "twenty", will create the preconditions for ensuring a favorable political and economic environment for agricultural investment and strengthen the role of the business community in improving the conditions of trade in agricultural products", - he stressed.
