According to the Ministry of agriculture and fisheries of the Astrakhan region, at the end of April planted spring crops on the area more than 20,6 thousand hectares. Of these, cereal crops occupy an area of four thousand hectare, vegetable — in ten thousand, potatoes — 5.6 thousand, melons and gourds — one thousand hectares. The total area planted and sown on 1 (one) percentage point higher than last year.

In addition, currently, imported 9 656 tonnes of mineral fertilisers, which is 45% of the demand. The importation of fertilizers continues.
