Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev approved the composition of the government Commission on agriculture and sustainable rural development.

"The purpose of the Commission is ensuring concerted actions of Executive authorities and organizations to implement a unified state policy in the field of agriculture, fisheries industry and sustainable development of rural territories",— stated in the message.

The Commission includes representatives of Federal Executive authorities, the state Duma and the Federation Council, the accounts chamber, Russian Academy of Sciences, Sberbank, Rosselkhozbank, Rosagroleasing, United grain company, the trade Union of agricultural workers, Union of employers "the Russian agro-industrial Association of employers "the agroindustrial Union of Russia"".

In April, presenting national report on the implementation in 2015 of the state program of agricultural development till 2020, Minister of agriculture Alexander Tkachev said that the industry for the year showed a three-percent growth, citing massive state support — in 2015 APK was allocated to 222 billion rubles (15% more than in 2014).

In 2016, as reported earlier, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the budget provides for support to agriculture on 215 billion roubles, but the government will seek funding at the level of last year.
