About 160 thousand agricultural facilities in Sakhalin region will be covered by the all-Russian agricultural census, which began in the region, said at a press conference the head of sahalinskaja Irina Leskova.

"A month and a half enumerators have to walk about 160 thousand objects. Among them 586 of farms, about 40 thousand private farms, more than 100 thousand horticultural, country, vegetable land," said Lescova.

A census on the Islands will take 114 scribes. From the Federal budget for its implementation allocated 11.4 million rubles.

"In recent years we have changed the approach to agriculture on the island, we realized that our agro-climatic conditions allow us to feed ourselves at least potatoes, vegetables and meat. But do not understand what we have with the earth, so are unable to set concrete tasks. The census will show that we have and how it is used," - said the Deputy Chairman of the regional government Bystrov.
 

The census data will be used for planning of agriculture on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, said the Minister of agriculture of the Sakhalin oblast Mikhail Kuzmenko. "Data on availability of land, condition of labor resources, the balance of production and consumption will allow us to create a strategy for the development of the industry in the region," he said.

All-Russian agricultural census 2016 will be held from 1 July to 15 August. A census of six forms that are divided into categories manufacturers. In the documents would make information about land resources and their utilization, livestock and poultry, human resources, and other data. Preliminary results will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2017, with the final at the end of 2018. The first agricultural census in Russia was held in 2006.
