Polish gardeners staged a protest, demanding the abolition of even sanctions
The Polish Union of gardeners holds in the centre of Warsaw a protest action, demanding from the authorities to change their stance on anti-Russian sanctions to bring the possibility of exporting Polish apples in Russia

This was announced on Monday, the head of the Union mirosław Maliszewski.


"We're helping those who are suffering because of sanctions. We are seeking the return of trade with Russia, want Poland in this (the policy of sanctions - ed.) is no longer involved"
, he said.


In addition, according to M. Maliszewski, gardeners demand from the government compensation for lost profits due to the inability to sell your product and achieve growth of prices.


"We're fighting for survival", he said, stressing that the cost of production much higher prices for purchased fruit.


In a demonstration attended by about 1.5 thousand people. They intend to hold a rally in front of government buildings, the foreign Ministry and several other ministries.

Apple production in Poland is growing and has to find buyers of those varieties which were previously exported to Russia, has become more difficult. This was announced on Monday, the Ministry of agriculture and rural development of the country.

The Agency stated "the significant growth of Apple production in the last 10 years - from 2.5 to 3.5 million tons."


"Add to this the Russian embargo and the need to embed in other markets about 800 thousand tons of apples. It's not easy, taking into account the preferences of consumers in other markets, where it is expected to not those varieties that were previously sold on the Russian market"
