The sides discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries in agriculture.
In the current year created by the Russian-Uzbek working group on the supply of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan to Russia. At the end of July 2016, held its first meeting of the working group, which was attended by representatives of the largest Uzbek suppliers of fruits and vegetables, the Russian trading networks, as well as relevant agencies of the two countries.
"Thanks to joint efforts, this year the supply of Uzbek agricultural produce on the Russian market increased more than 2 times", — said Alexander Tkachev.
The meeting noted that, despite the good performance in trade, there are a number of difficulties that impede the increase of deliveries of Uzbek fruit and vegetable products to Russia.
The Uzbek side proposed to consider the possibility of concluding agreements concerning FCS and Rosselkhoznadzor on the simplified procedure of customs and phytosanitary clearance, the so-called "green corridor".
The parties expressed readiness for cooperation across the entire spectrum of problematic issues.
In negotiations took part the heads of relevant departments of Ministry of agriculture of Russia, Deputy head of the Federal customs service of Russia Alexander Popov, the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert, representatives of Russian retail chains.
