More than 100 varieties of cheese will be brought to Moscow for "Cheese days"
Farmers from 20 regions of Russia will bring over 100 varieties of cheese weighing more than 50 tons of "Cheese days," which will be held from 30 September to 2 October, and will be the next step of the gastronomic festival "Golden autumn", organized by the Ministry of agriculture of Russia jointly with the Moscow Government

Visitors will find a huge selection of domestic hard and soft cheeses: cheeses from goat and sheep milk, including the famous brie, Camembert, Gorgonzola, mozzarella and burrata.

Currently, the cheeses are leaders in the Russian dairy market in volume production. Regions are the main producers of cheese are the Altai Krai, Voronezh, Moscow and Bryansk region.

Since the beginning of the year compared with the same period last the increase in domestic production of cheese increased by 2.2% to 395,5 thousand tons. The share of imports of cheese in the market is 23.5%, which is 14% less than last year. A reduction in imports contributed to a substantial increase in domestic production, which increased by 35.6% with 428,6 thousand tons in 2013 to 581,3 thousand tons in 2015. In the current year there was a completely new direction for Russia - production of cheeses with mold.

In the "Cheese days" will be attended by about 60 farmers. Half of the producers participating in the festival will be the debut and a chance to enter the Russian cheese market.

The brightest festival premiere is a semi-hard cheeses "Moscow" (it will be boiled on the fire directly at the festival on Manezh square) and "Honey". Manufacturers expect that over time both of these varieties will take place in the national line of cheeses that can be found on the shelves of city stores.

Gourmets will enjoy homemade delicacies, cheese-based: Yaroslavl manufacturers will bring to the festival the young cheese in olive oil with sun-dried tomatoes and Basil and cheese and dill. The most unusual dessert will be cheese, chocolates, truffles, hard cheeses and sweets with blue cheese from domestic producers.

In the framework of the "Cheese days", visitors will enjoy a rich educational program: the festival will be organized lectures from cheese makers, master-classes on cooking of many types of cheeses.

The main venues of the festival will be: "the City market" (Revolution square), "Autumn picnic" (the transition from Revolution square to Manezh square) and "the Bird's harbour" (Manezhnaya square).
