As stated by the General Director of the Institute for agricultural market studies (IKAR) Dmitry Rylko, General forecast of the grain export was reduced from 40 million to 39.4 million tons, including exports of wheat from 30 million to 29.5 million tonnes. Estimate exports of barley decreased from 4.1 million to 3.8 million tons.

According to him, the decline was due "based on current economic trends that are different from last year". Last year, he recalled, export growth contributed to the low exchange rate from 67 to 77 rubles per dollar, higher than this year, prices for grain, high quality grain. "In addition, last winter the weather was good resulting in the Azov didn't even stop navigation, shipment of grain was in January-February," he said.

"For each of these components in the current year, to put it mildly, there are difficulties. Against the background of less favorable conditions to export 5 million tons of grain more than last year", — said the head of ICARUS. As said Dmitry Rylko, wheat exports in the amount of 30 million tons is hardly possible.

As for another major export crops – barley, as he put it, "it's all in the market is not visible, do not understand where he went."

At the same time, IKAR raised its forecast of maize export from 4.6 million to 5 million tons.

"This is done on the basis of the high forecast of the maize harvest, which this year could reach 14.7 million tons against 13.2 million tons last year, said Dmitry Rylko.
