According to the Ministry of agriculture of Bulgaria, as of November 10, threshed 408.5 thousand hectares under maize, which is 96.6% of the planned (422,7 thousand hectares). Harvested 2152,3 thousand tons with an average yield of 5.27 t/ha.

At the reporting date the average corn yield exceeds last year's by 2.7%. But this is not enough to offset the decline in acreage under maize in Bulgaria for harvest 2016 9.5%.

Thus, the corn crop in the country this year is expected to reach 4-year low. According to our estimates, the corn crop in Bulgaria in the 2016/17 season in the weight after processing will not exceed 2.1 million tonnes, which is 7% lower than last year.
