Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet to develop amendments to the legislation that would provide for the granting regions greater autonomy in the use of subsidies in the agricultural sector, published on the Kremlin website, the President's instructions.

"The government of the Russian Federation to ensure the inclusion in the legislation of the Russian Federation of changes, providing... providing regions greater autonomy in the use of subsidies in the framework of the State program of development of agriculture and regulation of markets of agricultural products, raw materials and food for 2013-2020", — stated in the order.

In addition, the Cabinet will include the establishment of responsibility for non-achievement of performance indicators the use of such subsidies.
