The service has prepared a draft law "On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation in establishing liability for the manufacture and (or) circulation of adulterated food products."

According to Rospotrebnadzora, it is necessary to increase criminal liability for the manufacture for sale, importation, and sale of counterfeit food products, committed in a large scale and over the same acts, if committed by a group of persons upon a preliminary collusion or by an organized group or in especially large size or for the same acts, if committed under nutrition in preschool and other educational organizations, medical organizations, health institutions and social service organizations.

Production, importation and sale of counterfeit drugs will be punished by a fine ranging from three hundred thousand to eight hundred thousand rubles or the salary or other income of the convicted person for a period up to six months, or by compulsory works for a term of up to two hundred forty hours, or correctional labor for a term up to one year.

If it was done by a group of persons on preliminary arrangement, is punished with a fine ranging from five hundred thousand to one million five hundred rubles or the salary or other income of the convicted person for a period up to six months, or by compulsory works for a term of up to three hundred and sixty hours, or correctional labor for a term up to two years.
